Worley Awarded EPCM Contract for Denmark's National Hydrogen Transmission Network

Worley has been contracted by Energinet, Denmark's national transmission system operator, to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the Danish Hydrogen Backbone 1 project.
The contract spans five years and covers approximately 41 kilometers of new hydrogen pipeline construction and the conversion of approximately 89 kilometers of existing natural gas pipeline, along with associated infrastructure. The project aims to link large-scale green hydrogen production from wind and solar sources to German and broader European markets.
Worley will lead the project from Denmark with support from teams across Nordic locations, the UK, and its Global Integrated Delivery operations in India. The Danish Hydrogen Backbone 1 is expected to reach commissioning by late 2030.
Chris Ashton, Worley's Chief Executive Officer, stated that the contract advances a foundational European hydrogen infrastructure project and demonstrates the company's EPCM capabilities for large-scale critical infrastructure. He noted that the engagement strengthens Worley's market position in the Nordic region and creates opportunities for long-term growth with customers pursuing decarbonization initiatives.
