Tyczka Hydrogen Commissions Fourth Refueling Station at Port of Schweinfurt

Tyczka Hydrogen has commissioned a new hydrogen refueling station at the Port of Schweinfurt in a ceremonial opening attended by Bavarian State Minister Hubert Aiwanger and Schweinfurt Lord Mayor Ralf Hofmann. The station is designed for 24/7 operation and serves primarily commercial vehicles including trucks, buses, and municipal fleets.
The facility can dispense up to 1,000 kilograms of hydrogen per day at both 350 and 700 bar pressure, making it compatible with all common hydrogen-powered road vehicles. The location at the Schweinfurt port provides strategic access to key motorway corridors for regional and supraregional heavy-duty transport.
This is Tyczka Hydrogen's fourth operational refueling station, joining facilities at Augsburg, Giengen an der Brenz, and Hallstadt/Bamberg. The company is simultaneously constructing an electrolyzer with a truck loading center at the site to produce green hydrogen on-site, funded with 5 million euros through Bavaria's BayFELI program. This integrated production and distribution model positions Schweinfurt as a significant hydrogen hub in central Germany.
The station opening reflects broader support for hydrogen mobility infrastructure in Bavaria, including the state's new funding program for hydrogen commercial vehicles across all vehicle classes.
