RCT Hydrogen Launches Electrolyzer Manufacturing in Germany with 250 MW Annual Capacity

German-Chinese green hydrogen company RCT Hydrogen has started operations at a new manufacturing facility in Saarbrücken, Germany, developed as a joint venture with Brück, a manufacturer of forged and ring-rolled products. The facility is designed to produce electrolysis systems with a combined annual capacity of 250 MW.
Assembly of the first 5 MW electrolyzer is scheduled for June 2026, with delivery and commissioning planned for later that year at a German industrial site. The company reports that additional projects with combined electrolysis capacity exceeding 30 MW are currently in development.
The facility will also include a 2.5 MW electrolysis demonstration plant, with hydrogen produced there potentially replacing natural gas in Brück's high-temperature industrial processes. Beyond equipment sales, RCT Hydrogen is pursuing a "hydrogen-as-a-service" business model, in which the company builds and operates hydrogen production systems at customer sites while customers purchase hydrogen at contractually agreed prices.
RCT Hydrogen noted that hydrogen prices currently remain 20% to 50% higher per kWh than natural gas. The company cited carbon pricing at €83/t of CO₂ and growing renewable energy integration as factors that could narrow this price gap over time.
RCT Hydrogen is headquartered in Konstanz and structured as a joint venture, with the RCT Group holding 51% and Chinese manufacturer Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Technology & Equipment Co. Ltd. owning 49% through its German subsidiary, GF Hydrogen Europe GmbH.
