Quest One Expands Modular Hydrogen Platform with Outdoor Deployment Option

Quest One has expanded its Modular Hydrogen Platform (MHP) to include an open-air installation capability, removing requirements for a dedicated electrolyzer building, ventilation systems, and fire protection infrastructure.
The outdoor deployment option is designed to reduce project complexity, lower costs, and shorten implementation timelines, particularly for sites with limited space or restrictive construction requirements. The solution is suited for refinery and chemical plant environments where large-scale outdoor process equipment is standard practice.
The expanded platform now encompasses surrounding systems including cooling, fresh-water treatment, and hydrogen purification. Quest One leveraged expertise from its containerized ME450 solution to develop these additions.
The MHP is a scalable PEM electrolysis platform built around modular 10 MW units that can be combined into plants exceeding 100 MW capacity. The fully pre-integrated modules include power supply and water treatment systems.
According to Quest One, the platform delivers system efficiency up to 77% with high plant availability and a comprehensive maintenance concept designed for continuous industrial operation. The skid-based design supports rapid integration into existing industrial environments and flexible deployment under various site conditions, space constraints, and safety requirements.
