Public Consultations Launched for 400km France-Spain Subsea Hydrogen Pipeline

The BarMar subsea hydrogen pipeline project has initiated public consultations to gather stakeholder input on the 400km infrastructure link connecting Barcelona, Spain to Fos-sur-Mer, France.
The pipeline is part of the larger H2Med trans-European hydrogen corridor, which also includes the CelZa pipeline connecting Portugal and Spain. The project is being led by transmission system operators NaTran and Teréga of France, alongside Spain's Enagás.
The BarMar pipeline will incorporate compression stations on both sides of the subsea crossing to facilitate hydrogen transport across the Mediterranean. The consortium is conducting two months of public consultations beginning May 6, with 25 scheduled public discussions addressing the broader impacts of pipeline construction activities.
