MAX Power and City of Moose Jaw Sign MOU to Support Natural Hydrogen Development in Saskatchewan

MAX Power Mining Corp. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Moose Jaw to jointly advance natural hydrogen commercialization within the Regina-Moose Jaw Industrial Corridor. The agreement was signed on May 15, 2026, at a ceremony at Moose Jaw City Hall.
The partnership aims to align regional infrastructure, industry, policy, and economic development initiatives as MAX Power advances the Lawson Natural Hydrogen system near Central Butte, located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Moose Jaw. The company plans to provide an operational update on Lawson the week of May 18, 2026.
MAX Power CEO Ran Narayanasamy stated that natural hydrogen represents "the next chapter" in Saskatchewan's energy legacy, offering opportunities to support innovation, attract investment, and position the region as a leader in domestically sourced clean energy.
Moose Jaw Mayor James Murdoch noted that the MOU aligns with the city's strategic plan for economic growth and partnerships. He highlighted that the agreement allows exploration of natural hydrogen's potential to support local industries and create research, training, and economic opportunities.
The Regina-Moose Jaw Industrial Corridor is described as a strategic hub with established transportation, logistics, industrial operations, energy infrastructure, skilled workforce, and education capabilities. MAX Power believes the region's location and industrial strengths position it well to connect large-scale natural hydrogen discovery with future end-use demand and economic expansion.
