Hystar Launches 20 MW Orion PEM Electrolyzer Cluster for Standardized Hydrogen Production

Hystar has launched Orion, a 20 MW PEM electrolyzer cluster built on the company's patented PEM electrolyzer technology. The system is designed to support large-scale hydrogen production across a wide range of project sizes while delivering consistent efficiency across its full operating range.
The Orion cluster features independent operation of each unit, which the company states enhances plant flexibility and enables a wider turn-down range. The skid-mounted design is intended to simplify transportation and installation, while built-in redundancy is designed to maximize uptime and operational availability.
Hystar CEO Fredrik Mowill stated that "Orion will enable standardisation and accelerated deployment of large-scale green hydrogen projects" by combining high efficiency with modular, cluster-based design to help partners scale projects quickly while reducing both capital and operating expenses.
The Orion launch follows Hystar's collaboration with McDermott International on a turnkey 100 MW green hydrogen plant design. The integrated design aims to provide customers with a ready-to-deploy solution that reduces technical risk, simplifies procurement, and shortens time to market.
