Hydrovia Energy Plans 500 Hydrogen Stations Across Major U.S. Freight Corridors, Launches AI Knowledge Platform

Hydrovia Energy, based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, has unveiled a two-part strategy to address infrastructure gaps and knowledge barriers in U.S. hydrogen adoption for heavy-duty transportation.
The company plans to deploy more than 500 hydrogen refueling stations across three major east-west freight corridors, targeting Class 8 haulers and commercial fleet operators. Each station will be paired with a modular hydrogen production unit located on-site, reducing supply chain complexity by generating hydrogen closer to the point of use rather than transporting it over long distances.
Concurrently, Hydrovia launched H₂Ai, described as a 24/7 AI-powered hydrogen intelligence system developed by LaunchField Digital. The platform aggregates information from over 36 specialized frameworks and uses natural language processing to provide real-time guidance on topics including electrolysis, compression, hydrogen storage, dispensing, fuel cell design, and station maintenance. The tool is accessible at www.hydroviaenergy.com/h2ai.
Hydrovia states that site scouting and permitting activities are underway, with initial stations targeted for high-demand freight corridors. The company has published an interactive public roadmap showing the phased deployment timeline, though final opening dates remain contingent on regulatory approvals. The initiative aims to reduce range anxiety for fuel cell vehicle operators and establish the infrastructure necessary to support widespread hydrogen adoption in freight transportation.
