Fortum Inaugurates Hydrogen Production Test Facility in Finland with Stargate Electrolyser

Stargate Hydrogen announced the successful delivery of its 1 MW alkaline electrolyser to Fortum's newly inaugurated Kalla Test Center in Loviisa, Finland. The facility represents a major milestone for both companies, with Stargate Hydrogen demonstrating the reliability of its technology while Fortum begins long-term operational testing of hydrogen production systems.

The Kalla Test Center is designed as a pilot-scale hydrogen production facility to test hydrogen technologies under real operating conditions. The site will function as a platform for operational learning, technology validation, and future project development, with operations planned through 2028.

The Stargate Hydrogen electrolyser is one of two systems currently operating at the facility, making Kalla one of the first hydrogen sites in the Nordic region to test multiple electrolyser technologies simultaneously.
