Daimler Truck, MB Energy, and Kawasaki to Develop Liquid Hydrogen Supply Chain via Hamburg Port

Daimler Truck, MB Energy, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries have signed a development agreement to create a liquefied hydrogen (LH2) supply chain to Europe through the Port of Hamburg. The agreement was signed at the Hamburg Port Anniversary festival.
Under the partnership, each company brings specific capabilities to the project. Kawasaki will supply hydrogen liquefiers, LH2 storage tanks, and LH2 carrier ships. MB Energy will handle trading, logistics, and convert service stations for hydrogen distribution. Daimler Truck will provide heavy-duty hydrogen trucks for transportation.
The initiative builds upon an existing Japan-Germany hydrogen memorandum of understanding between the partners. The consortium aims to achieve commercial operation by the early 2030s, establishing infrastructure for liquid hydrogen distribution across Europe.
