BrightHy Solutions to Build 2 MW Green Hydrogen Plant for Spanish Cement Producer

BrightHy Solutions, a subsidiary of Fusion Fuel Green, has agreed to build and operate a 2 MW green hydrogen facility at a cement production site operated by Çimsa Cementos España in Buñol, Spain. The project will integrate hydrogen as an alternative fuel source to reduce carbon emissions from the cement manufacturing process.
Construction services will be provided through agreements between Çimsa and BrightHy Spain, the Spanish branch of BrightHy Solutions. Supply, engineering, and operational services will be delivered by BrightHy Spain under separate agreements with Çimsa Cementos España and related project companies. The facility will utilize equipment supplied through BrightHy Solutions' agency agreement with Sungrow Hydrogen, a global hydrogen equipment supplier and industrial technology provider.
According to Frederico Figueira de Chaves, Chief Executive Officer of Fusion Fuel Green and BrightHy Solutions, the project addresses industrial segments where electrification alone cannot meet long-term emissions reduction goals. He noted that cement production represents one of the largest industrial decarbonization challenges globally due to its high-temperature heat requirements and limited alternatives to fossil fuels.
Mario Garma, Chief Operating Officer of BrightHy Solutions, emphasized that hydrogen deployment success depends on projects that solve industrial challenges pragmatically and remain economically viable. The company indicated that follow-on projects with the client are already in the proposal phase.
